In the Fall of 1999, Brittany Sampson moved to Lakeland from hometown Orlando, Florida to attend Florida Southern College. She chose to pursue a degree in Sociology and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2002 with two social science majors.
She was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Eta Sigma, Theta Chi Beta, an Honor Walk Nominee and a member of Who's Who Among American Universities and Colleges. Upon graduation she also received the Robert B Chapman Sociology Award and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
During her career at FSC she was a part of many different groups including ACE, a student driven organization that provided quality entertainment for the entire Florida Southern campus community. She organized events, programmed and booked musicians for coffee house events and was lead in marketing among the organization. Brittany was a Resident Advisor and also worked in the College and Career office to help students navigate choices among the future career options. She volunteered at a local crisis pregnancy center among other volunteer opportunities. She held Vice President for the Habitat for Humanity group on campus and was involved with additional religious organizations. She taught middle school dance classes and also worked at a low-income after school program during college.
Brittany also played co-ed intramural tennis and enjoyed walking the campus and working out in the gym.
